Independence Day Celebration-Saturday June 26, 2021
This year the Independence Day Celebration will be moved from Stephen’s Park to Downtown Social Circle! The event planning committee has scheduled activities a little differently from prior years for this City center location. We are excited to bring these festivities downtown in 2021.
From noon until 5 pm, Cherokee Road will be closed to traffic for a street festival with ten to twenty arts and crafts and food vendors; and a car show. The proceeds from the car show will be dedicated to the “Police Who Care” fund, which is a charity supported by law enforcement agencies for community benefit. Local law enforcement agencies fron1 around the region will be present to show their support.
The car show will end, and vendors will leave the area after 5 pm so that Cherokee Road can be reopened by 7 pm so visitors can come to the evening celebrations.
Beginning at 7 pm in Friendship Park will be a concert featuring the 80’s cover band, the 80ators. This band is amazing and will keep you on your feet! The park will be clear of vendors during this time, so bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the evening.
Four food trucks will be parked adjacent to Friendship Park to aid our restaurants in keeping attendees fed and refreshed.
Fireworks will begin at 9:45pm. At the conclusion of the Fireworks, Police and Fire staff will assist a safe and orderly flow of traffic from the event.
We appreciate all the vendors participating in this event and look forward to fun community event that is beneficial to the merchants and vendors and charity, and that celebrates our Country’s Independence Day.
